1. Highlight, annotate and bookmark pages while reading online. This helps you out so that you can come back to this site and find what you are looking for easily. 
2. Organize, share, and display collections of bookmarks. This helps you connect with others and find information you are interested in. You can also keep up with friends. The community of diigo users can help you find things you are interested in through groups and larger networks through common tags.
3. Get information based off what you are interested in through recommended bookmarks or find users with similar interests. This helps you connect with the world.

Describe is Web 2.0, and how it differs from previous stages of the web?
Web 2.0 is meant for interacting and collaborating with others instead of just passively viewing content on the web. It is more user centered.

What is social bookmarking and what advantages does social bookmarking offer that traditional storage and retrieval of web sites does not?
Social bookmarking is a way to store, organize, manage, and search for bookmarks (links) online. This allows you to share information with others instead of just using it privately. You can also add tags and descriptions to your bookmarks to help yourself and others know what they are looking at. These descriptions can also include reviews or pros and cons of a particular bookmark.
