Jing Screencast

Today we were assigned to create a video using Jing. We were supposed to teach our students/parents how to do something on the computer. One thing I have found very useful to show my students or parents is how to create a bibliography using Microsoft Word. Doing it by hand can be VERY confusing (even for English teachers). This is one of my favorite tools on the computer. It is a blessing when writing papers and citing sources. Using Jing to share it with others is a brilliant idea. Whenever I have tried to explain this in the past it can get confusing and I would have to go to the person and show them. Now I can just send them this link!

This activity matches ISTE NETS T standards 3,4, and 5. By making the video I am modeling using technology and introducing it to students/parents. The activity I am teaching with the video covers 4 and 5. It is important to cite sources and this shows an easy way to do this. It is digital responsibility to tell where you got your information. I can also share this knowledge with others. Both Jing and the bibliography tool in Word are great tools to know and share with the community and my students.

11. What is the domain name of the server where screen cast movies are stored? screencast.com
