Today we were assigned to download Jing. Jing is sort of like the snipping tool we used yesterday. You can capture whatever image is on your screen. The upside to Jing, however, is that you can post it to the web and share it with others. We were asked to create an image that we could use to introduce something we could teach. As an English teacher, I chose to create an image about semicolons. I used the text feature to explain why a semicolon is used and to show questions you can ask yourself to try to determine if one is necessary. I used the arrow tools to show which sentence is correct and which is incorrect. I also changed the color of my tools to highlight important features. The rule is in the yellow box, the incorrect arrow is red, and and correct arrow is green. I like this tool. Here is my jing image:

I believe this fits the
ISTE NETS T standard number three. Using jing models using technology to the students. It lets them see me using technology to add my own notes to existing resources to make it easier for them to learn.
